Thank You From Kyiv
I am writing to express my gratitude to all those people whom God has given opportunity and desire to do such things as the UEC. I am not gifted at writing. I will not write much, but I just want to tell of the things that I am thankful for. The UEC is a very extraordinary center because of many purposes that it's serving. I will tell about five ways in which the UEC helps me as a Christian. Here at this place I can study the Word of God. It is very important for me because very often I just cannot read the Bible at home or in other places because of the noisy atmosphere and many other distractions. I can also ask people who come to the Center about something that I do not understand, and there is always a good chance of getting wise answers to my questions. There are many Christian books in one place. I can always find something useful and interesting, even though I am not a very active reader. Sometimes I tell my friends about God, but they don't always want to come to church services at once. And then I invite them to the UEC to help them learn more about Christ. The guests can see and feel a Christian attitude at the Center, and this is very important because we show that we belong to Christ with our lives. Sometimes I come to the UEC just to watch a nice movie or listen to Christian music in a quiet friendly atmosphere. I want to rest from the business of the world and the noise of the city. Very often the world presses on us, and I just want for at least a few hours not to see the things that happen on the streets every day. Also, the UEC provides with circumstances when one can find out about the needs of others and serve people and God. It is great to be able to talk to different people. Such conversations widen my understanding of God and Christianity. I am thankful to people who help me in all the things that I've mentioned above. Thank you for helping me grow stronger in Jesus Christ. I thank God for every one of you. Sasha Avramchuk Posted on December 8, 2006 |
