American Visitors
at the UEC

During the spring months, the UEC welcomed several visitors from the US.

The Ukrainian Education Center board president David Ralston came to Kyiv for a visit in early March. He brought a suitcase of new business and biology textbooks donated by Dr. James Arnett, Dr. Susan Galbreath, and Ms. Jackie Cash. Both the staff and our patrons were delighted to receive such a generous donation of textbooks. The UEC staff spent the afternoon with David as we made numerous plans for the future. David and Vitaly also took care of some pressing legal matters.

Joe and Betty Cannon (missionaries to Bila Tserkva and supported by the Highland church in Memphis) came to Ukraine in April on a short-term mission trip. They are searching for young people who used to be members of the church in Bila Tserkva, but who later moved to Kyiv to study or work and did not become a part of any Kyiv community. Mr. and Mrs. Cannon are trying to spend some time with these people, introduce them to members of Churches of Christ in Kyiv, and encourage them to commit to one of these churches. For one of their activities at the UEC, they invited some former members of the church in Bila Tserkva to their fourth wedding anniversary party. Both Mr. and Mrs. Cannon and their guests (pictured above) had a very good time.

Finally, in late April, Dr. Gary Jerkins dropped by the UEC during his medical mission trip to Ukraine. He spent the afternoon with the staff and we made some plans for the upcoming visit of Lera and Vitaly to the US.
