A Word From a Patron

This year we have seen a large increase in the number of international students who come to the Ukrainian Education Center. It has been a great blessing to see that we can serve not just people from Ukraine but from many other nations in the world as well. Marc Farah (pictured above), originally from Lebanon, is one of these students. He came to Ukraine last year to study to be a veterinarian at the National Agrarian University. Marc heard about the Center from a friend as he was looking for a place with English textbooks for his classes. Here's what he has to say about the Ukrainian Education Center:

The UEC has been a great blessing for me, as well as for a lot of others I know.

English language books are relatively difficult to find in Kyiv, and there's a good collection of English language material at the UEC, both Christian and non-Christian.

Another difficulty one faces as a believer is the scarcity of good, clean, wholesome movies without illicit or immoral content. I compare the movies out there to mine fields! The UEC has solved this problem by offering practically free rent of clean movies, many in English (yet another challenge for international Kyiv residents).

Of all the things the UEC has to offer, the one I have to say has been the most helpful is the rooms upstairs that can be reserved for a couple of hours at a time, whether one is looking for a few hours of privacy, needs to study or read a good book, or maybe a place to conduct a quiet Bible study with a few friends.

The computers downstairs are also quite useful, especially when one has something urgent to type.

All in all, the main reason I'm writing is because I was asked to give my opinion of the UEC (of which I'm a regular member). I quickly agreed. It's the least anyone can do, considering the blessings it brings us. Quite frankly, I believe if there were more places like this in Kyiv, it would contribute greatly to the spreading of the Kingdom. It's a really great place. God bless you.
