Thank You,
Library Donors

In our last issue we wrote that we were able to create more space in the library by adding several shelving units thanks to our generous donors. In this newsletter we are happy to inform our readers that with the help of our library donors this new free shelving space is now being actively filled up.

When the UEC staff returned to work late this August, there was a surprise waiting for us. Nine heavy M-Bags filled with books were stored at the local post-office waiting for pick-up.

Dr. Mack W. Craig, David Ralston, and John Johnson blessed the UEC library by sending around 150 new books and 20 periodicals to Kyiv. Thanks to these generous donations, Bible and Christianity, sociology, geography, mathematics, biology, and history sections of the library expanded and improved significantly in just a very short period of time.

We are happy that now, when our patrons return from their summer vacations to resume their studies, we notice smiles on their faces because now our library offers more materials they can use. For this, we would like to thank our recent donors and those of you who helped the UEC library to grow throughout the years.

It is amazing to think about how the library has not only grown and but also improved throughout the last six years since the UEC opened in October 2001. Together with these recent donations, our library now counts 9,601 items. Just recently, our art section has doubled in size offering valuable books that would be tremendously expensive to buy in Ukraine if one was lucky to find them or even something similar. The management and marketing section, one of the most popular ones, now offers some very current materials, which is always important for students who major in this area of study.

We try to put a special emphasis on growing our collection of Christian materials in English, Russian, and Ukrainian. We spend some monetary gifts every month to purchase Christian books here in Kyiv, but our English language collection grows only thanks to the donations from the US. We believe Christian literature is the most important section in the UEC library, since it is so vital for Ukrainian Christians and seekers to have access to good quality books about the Bible and various subjects in Christianity. With your help, many of our Ukrainian patrons get to use this wide choice of Bible reference materials and Christian books every day.

We thank you, our library donors! Your donations are so important for students and our other patrons in Kyiv.
