It is wise to register with the U.S.
embassy on arrival to Kyiv by going to the Consular Services (044-490-4422)
located near Lukyanivska metro, and filling out a one page information
form. Make sure you bring your passport with you. The form can also be
faxed to the embassy with a copy of your passport. You can also register
on-line. Registering with the embassy is a good idea in case an international
emergency arises (not likely) and the government wishes to warn you to
be on alert or to leave Ukraine. It also makes the replacement of a lost
or stolen passport much easier. Please note that the Consular Services
where you register (6 Pymonenka Vul. or 6 вул. Пимоненка) is not at the
actual embassy building. Visit their website to download the warden
registration form.
